Amber Benson, an American singer-songwriter director and producer also writes. Her most well-known work is her role as Tara Maclay on the TV show Buffy the Vampire Slayer and she has also produced and performed in her own film Chance as well as Lovers Liars & Lunatics. She was also in the film Kiss the Bride. Benson was born January 8 1977, in Birmingham Alabama the daughter of Diane Benson and Edward Benson a psychiatrist. Danielle Benson is her younger artist sister. Her father, Benson's was Jewish while her mother was a Southern Baptist raised by Southern Baptist parents. She grew up going to a Reform church in Alabama. Benson is a performer in numerous movies and TV shows in the years since Buffy ended, has also appeared in The Killing Jar. Her creative talents are utilized on Ghosts of Albion, and she directed Drones (2010). Buffy states that, after taking the time to count and find them, she came across around 1800 Slayers all over the world of which 500 are associated to The Scooby Gang.
