
Thomas William Selleck is an American actor from the United States. His breakout role was playing the role of a private detective Thomas Magnum in the television series Magnum, P.I. The actor was nominated five times for Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Lead Actor in the Drama Series (1980-1988) as well as was awarded the Emmy Award in 1985. In the TV series Blue Bloods, Selleck has been a part of the character Frank Reagan, New York City Police Commissioner. Since 2005, he has been playing Jesse Stone, a troubled police chief in a small-town New York City. He has also appeared in nine television movies that are based on Robert B. Parker novels. Selleck has also been featured in movies as Peter Mitchell, a bachelor architect in Three Men and a Baby (1987), and Three Men and a Little Lady (90). He has also been seen in more than 50 different television and film parts since Magnum, P.I., including the films Quigley Down Under, Mr. Lassiter and baseball. He was a regular TV actor in the roles of Monica Geller's lover, Dr. Richard Burke, on Friends; Lance White, the charming and innocent companion on The Rockford Files; and A.J., casino owner.
